Hop on board and soothe your soul with the joyous sounds of Freedom Train!
Formed in 2008 and led by musical director Cath Mundy, the choir's 25-strong membership share a love of "singing for joy".
Based in Waterford, the group meets on Monday nights and welcomes members from all walks of life.
Showcasing unique vocal arrangements, Freedom Train perform acappella-style* or accompanied by Jay Turner's acoustic guitar and percussion, Cath Mundy's violin & piano, and sometimes by their own "in-choir" ukulele ensemble.
Over the last 9 years, the choir have performed at many events, a major highlight being the Queensland Music Festival’s Under This Sky – Logan’s Musical Celebration (2015) for an audience of 15,000, and Brisbane Sings at QPAC Concert Hall in 2016.
From world-roots to gospel to pop, Freedom Train community choir sing songs to uplift the heart, release the soul and above all, have serious fun. Enjoy the ride!
